Overthrown Unveils Its First Major Update the Livestock Expansion

Posted on February 4, 2025May 2, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

The world of Overthrown, known for its unpredictable blend of city-building and physics-based madness, just got a whole lot more complex—and exciting. The newly released Livestock Update, now live on Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview, marks the first major content expansion for the game and sets the tone for future developments.

Major Enhancements: What the Livestock Update Brings

This isn’t just a typical patch—it’s a full-fledged expansion that introduces a new layer of gameplay:

  • Livestock and Animal Management: Raise, herd, and utilize livestock to feed your growing kingdom.
  • New Structures: Build pens, feeding stations, and breeding facilities.
  • Production Chains: Manage a new cycle of food production that now includes meat, milk, and byproducts.
  • Creature Mayhem: Yes, even the animals can cause chaos—or help fend it off.

These additions significantly enrich the gameplay loop, giving players more tools and challenges in the pursuit of building a thriving, if slightly unhinged, empire.

Game Overview: Build, Defend, and Throw Everything

Overthrown thrives on chaos and creativity. You start with a single ruler and a soul-bound crown, then expand your influence by physically throwing buildings into place and hurling invaders across the map.

There’s no “right” way to play—it’s entirely up to how inventive (or destructive) you want to be. This sandbox-style gameplay, combined with real-time combat and absurd physics, makes Overthrown feel like a fever dream of a strategy game in the best way.

Key Features

  • Soul-Bound Crown Mechanics: Rule your kingdom by unleashing the powers of the crown.
  • Physics-Based Construction: Build by throwing structures across the map—seriously.
  • Multiplayer Mayhem: Team up or compete in online co-op for maximum absurdity.
  • Now with Livestock: Animals bring both utility and unpredictability.
