Main character exploring a glowing alien structure in space in the game Astrometica.

Astrometica Preview: Survive and Explore the Final Frontier

Posted on December 5, 2024June 24, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Thanks to the developers at BeryMery and the publishing team at RockGame S.A., I got early access to Astrometica—a space survival adventure that speaks to the explorer in all of us. Scheduled to launch on December 10, 2024, the game blends familiar survival mechanics with a rich interstellar backdrop.

Cutscene and Early Impressions

The game opens with a short cutscene—less than a minute—which may feel abrupt, but effectively throws you straight into gameplay. It reminded me of titles like Conan Exiles and Subnautica, where you’re expected to piece together your path through trial, error, and curiosity. It’s a quiet but deliberate design choice.

The Gameplay Loop: Survival Meets Discovery

Astrometica asks players to build from the ground up—literally. I was able to establish a small base in just a few hours. From there, the gameplay focuses on resource gathering, blueprint scanning, crafting, and tool upgrading. It feels familiar to survival fans but in a good way, like catching up with an old friend in an entirely new place.

Base Building and Expansion

Your base is your lifeline. You’ll be customizing and upgrading it to withstand the harshness of space. Whether it’s a simple shelter or a research facility, the modular system encourages creativity and efficiency in design.

The visuals are a standout feature. Running at an ultrawide resolution of 5120×1440, Astrometica delivers stunning vistas with excellent draw distance and detail. The game also ran smoothly—no crashes, bugs, or hiccups. That alone is noteworthy for a game still in development.

Astrometica

Release Date: December 10, 2024

Genre: Space Survival, Exploration, Sci-Fi

Developer/Publisher: BeryMery / RockGame S.A.

Genre: Survival, Crafting, Open World

Platforms: Steam (PC)

Final Thoughts: Familiar Yet Fresh

Astrometica might not revolutionize the genre, but it absolutely polishes it. If you’ve enjoyed time in games like Subnautica or No Man’s Sky, you’ll likely feel right at home here. I’m especially curious about future updates—side quests or multiplayer could push it even further. As it stands, this one’s worth keeping your eye on.
