Martian invader standing over a burning Russian landscape in The War of the Worlds: Siberia

Declassified Dispatch: “The War of the Worlds: Siberia” Reveals First Look

Posted on December 1, 2024July 3, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

The echoes of invasion have reached the digital front as 1CGS unveils the first declassified details from The War of the Worlds: Siberia. Set in an alternate timeline where Martians descend upon Earth in 1896, the game reimagines the classic H.G. Wells narrative in a uniquely Russian context—placing players in the snow-covered chaos of Petrograd and Siberia.

Gameplay Features: Alien Warfare Meets Russian Survivalism

In The War of the Worlds: Siberia, players step into a frozen world torn apart by alien invasion. As survivors flee eastward, they must battle Martian Tripods using an arsenal that spans rudimentary firearms to advanced mechanized war machines. Blending third-person action, strategic puzzles, and stealth elements, the game demands both brains and brawn to survive.

The dark streets of Petrograd, the bitter cold of Siberia, and the panic of a collapsing empire provide a chilling yet immersive backdrop. Humanity’s survival hangs by a thread—and every choice you make could be your last.

Narrative & Literary Inspiration

Inspired by H.G. Wells’ original The War of the Worlds, this reimagined story integrates literary science fiction with modern gameplay. It’s not just a retelling, but a bold transformation, grounded in Russian history and cultural aesthetics—making it feel both familiar and entirely new.

Upcoming Features and Systems

The development team is also introducing dynamic relationship systems, including an unexpected but welcome feature: in-game weddings. Players can name villages, customize dyes and village crests, and shape settlements with personal flair. These aren’t just cosmetic—your choices help define your presence across the map.

Strategic seasonal field management and community-driven events are also coming, offering tactical depth and long-term rewards. These additions hint that the game may evolve into more than just an action title—perhaps even a survival management hybrid.
