Review of Little Kitty, Big City: A Tale of Whimsy and Exploration

Posted on July 20, 2024September 28, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A Tale of Whimsy and Exploration

Released on May 9, 2024 by developer and publisher Double Dagger Studio, Little Kitty, Big City is a charming sandbox adventure where a simple catnap turns into a sprawling urban exploration. The goal is not only to find your way home, but to enjoy the city, its hidden corners, and the small encounters along the way.

Comparison to Stray

While both games feature feline protagonists in urban settings, their approaches differ significantly. Little Kitty, Big City leans much more heavily into lighthearted exploration, playful interactions, and a relaxed sandbox structure.

Pricing and Accessibility

Both games are priced at around $30 on Steam. However, Little Kitty, Big City stands out for its broader hardware compatibility, ensuring that a wide range of players can enjoy the game with the systems they already own. Available also on Xbox And Nintendo Switch

Conclusion and Final Recommendation

In the small but growing group of open-world cat games, both Little Kitty, Big City and Stray offer very different experiences. For players looking for feline mischief, exploration, and something that is easier on older hardware, Little Kitty, Big City was the more accessible choice for me.
