Everything is Crab Launches on PC With Animal Evolution Roguelite Chaos

Posted on May 8, 2026May 8, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Odd Dreams Digital’s animal evolution roguelite is out now on PC

Everything is Crab: The Animal Evolution Roguelite launches today, May 8, 2026, bringing Odd Dreams Digital’s creature-evolution roguelite to PC.

Published by Secret Mode, the game is available through Steam, Epic Games Store, and Stove. The launch version focuses on survival through adaptation, with players hunting, fleeing, scavenging, and evolving their creature across each run.

The official Steam page lists more than 125 evolutions and specialisations, allowing players to build different creature combinations as they progress through the game’s living ecosystem. Evolution choices affect both how the creature plays and how it looks, with builds shaped around traits such as claws, wings, pincers, antlers, poison, and other animal-inspired abilities.

What the launch version includes

Everything is Crab is built around an animal evolution system where each run gives players new ways to adapt. Players start with a vulnerable creature, gather food, survive against other animals, and choose new evolutionary traits as the run develops.

The game includes multiple biomes, different enemy types, bosses with distinct attack patterns, a difficulty system called Selective Pressure, challenge scenarios, meta-progression, endless runs, and a Codex for tracking discoveries and unlocked genetic variations.

Evolution, biomes, and survival systems

According to the official store listing, the game’s evolution-based abilities are designed to create different builds and playstyles. Players can lean into mobility, aggression, survival, support-style traits, or stranger creature combinations depending on the options available during a run.

The game also features a living ecosystem with critters that have their own behaviours, several stages of evolution, four distinct biomes, climate events, points of interest, flora, fauna, and a night-and-day cycle.

A roguelite built around carcinisation

The title plays with the idea of carcinisation, where different animals independently evolve toward crab-like forms. In Everything is Crab, that concept becomes the centre of the roguelite loop, with each run pushing players to adapt, survive, and build a creature capable of resisting or embracing the natural curve.

Secret Mode describes the game as an animal evolution roguelite about hunting, fleeing, scavenging, and thriving in a living ecosystem. The launch version keeps that focus clear: survive long enough, evolve in useful ways, and deal with the ecosystem as it changes around you.
