GTA 6 File Size Rumors Spark Storage Concerns
Grand Theft Auto VI does not have an official file size yet, but the latest rumors have raised a fair question for console players: how much storage will they need when the game finally launches?
Rockstar Games has not confirmed the final download or install size for GTA 6. The current official GTA VI page and public store listings show the release date, platforms, and store details, but no confirmed storage requirement has been listed publicly yet.
That means any number being shared online right now should be treated as rumor until Rockstar, PlayStation, or Xbox confirms the official requirement.
Still, the concern is easy to understand. GTA 6 is set for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. If the final install size ends up anywhere near the larger rumors, many players may need to clear serious space before launch day.

A huge install would hit console players fast
A 500GB game would be extreme. On lower-storage consoles, it could take up most of the available drive. Even on a 1TB system, it would still leave players choosing what to keep installed and what to delete.
That could mean removing Call of Duty, NBA 2K, Forza, or several smaller games just to make room. Expansion storage is an option, but not every player wants to pay more after already buying the game.
For now, the safe answer is simple: the GTA 6 file size is not confirmed. But if the final number is huge, storage could become one of the first real launch headaches for console players.
