Lifeless Moon Ready for Lift Off a Nostalgic Return to Cinematic Space Adventures Set for July Release

Posted on June 13, 2024June 28, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Boulder, Colorado – June 12, 2024 – The countdown is underway for Lifeless Moon, the latest project from Stage 2 Studios and publisher Serenity Forge. Set to release on July 9, 2024, this cinematic 3D platformer will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

As a spiritual successor to the beloved indie hit Lifeless Planet, this new game takes players on a surreal, narrative-rich journey across a strangely familiar Moon.

Game Premise: Surreal Sci-Fi Meets Lunar Mystery

Set during the Apollo-era, you take on the role of an astronaut landing on the Moon—only to stumble upon a fully recreated 1970s desert town. As you explore, the boundary between reality and illusion begins to dissolve, revealing secrets buried in time and space.

The game delivers a powerful blend of exploration, puzzle-solving, and cinematic storytelling, wrapped in a visually striking lunar world that feels both alien and hauntingly nostalgic.

Core Gameplay Features

  • Cinematic third-person platforming in a mysterious, otherworldly setting
  • Exploration-focused gameplay driven by narrative and atmosphere
  • Environmental puzzles that uncover deeper story elements
  • Spiritual continuation of Lifeless Planet‘s themes and tone
  • Striking visual style blending realism with retro sci-fi design
