Lost In The Open Debuts at Steam Next Fest with Exclusive Gameplay Trailer

Black Voyage Games proudly joins the Steam Next Fest with an exclusive new gameplay trailer for Lost In The Open. This eagerly awaited event gives players around the globe their first deep dive into the game’s tactical combat and grim atmosphere. A free playable demo is available from now until June 17th, offering a hands-on taste of its challenging gameplay.

Discover the World of Lost In The Open

“We’ve taken the buttload of feedback we got from previous festivals and G.Round, soaked it all up to deliver the best experience yet of Lost In The Open on Steam Next Fest. We are very excited to show off our demo on Steam’s largest festival – check it out!” shared the Black Voyage Games team.

Lost In The Open is a roguelike, low-fantasy tactical RPG set in a dark and unforgiving no man’s land. Following an unexpected assassination attempt, you’re left wounded, alone, and fleeing through treacherous territory. Every move counts, as survival hinges on strategic recruitment, intense battles, and the choices you make along the way. Your King is both your strongest weapon and your greatest risk — how you command him will determine if you endure or fall.

Gameplay and Choices That Matter

Every encounter in Lost In The Open matters. Each map node presents narrative decisions — from engaging in high-risk combat to negotiating bribes. To survive, you’ll need to:

  • Defeat dangerous enemies
  • Assist strangers in need
  • Trade with merchants for gear and abilities
  • Recruit loyal bodyguards

With procedurally generated worlds, no two runs will be the same, keeping players on their toes.
