A music-first studio built for horror, atmosphere, and story
August 12, 2021 — Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck and game director Cory Davis (best known for Spec Ops: The Line) announced EYES OUT, a Los Angeles-based studio aiming for a more “arthouse” lane of game development—where music, narrative, and player presence are treated as one connected thing.
That mission matters even more now, because the studio’s first major release, SLEEP AWAKE, is already out—and if you want the short version on what it feels like to play, here’s our coverage: Sleep Awake Review — Fix Gaming Channel.
A studio philosophy built around sound and emotion
From day one, EYES OUT positioned itself as a studio focused on world-building, tone, and the kind of sensory “push-pull” you get when audio and atmosphere aren’t just decoration—they’re part of how the story lands. The core idea is simple: make games that feel like they have a pulse, where music and narrative decisions shape the whole experience.

Who’s behind EYES OUT?
Cory Davis comes from the narrative-heavy side of modern shooters and psychological tension, while Robin Finck brings a career built on texture, mood, and intensity—exactly the kind of collaboration that makes sense if your goal is to build horror where the sound is doing real work.
SLEEP AWAKE — the studio’s first major release
EYES OUT’s debut, SLEEP AWAKE, leans into psychological horror and surreal dread—built to be felt as much as “understood.” If you want the official store page, it’s available here: SLEEP AWAKE on Steam.
