Create Miniature Worlds: Outside the Blocks Now on Steam

Posted on November 6, 2025November 6, 2025 By Aidan Minter

A realistic medieval diorama builder from solo dev Michał Kubas is out now on Steam

Outside the Blocks arrives on PC with a relaxed, creativity-first sandbox for building richly detailed medieval scenes — from timber cottages and Tudor townhouses to sprawling castles with cobblestone courtyards. Launched on November 4, 2025, it’s a single-creator project that leans into tactile model-making: shape terrain, tune weather and lighting, and capture your miniature worlds in a built-in photo mode. You can even display creations inside elegant glass domes for that crafts-table finish. If you’re into historical builders, you might also like our first impressions of Aztecs: The Last Sun.

Beyond static builds, subtle animations add life — rippling water, flickering firelight, animals and breezes — while modular tools (including Autobuild and layered materials) keep iteration quick. If last year’s Tiny Glade won you over with cozy, whimsical castle-sketching, Outside the Blocks offers a more realistic diorama vibe aimed at digital model makers. For another medieval-leaning pick, see our preview of Settlements Rising.
