Cartoon-style artwork of four colorful scout characters climbing a mountain, with the word “PEAK” boldly displayed above a glowing summit at sunset.

PEAK Is Chaotic Climbing Co-Op Madness from Landfall and Aggro Crab

Posted on July 15, 2025January 10, 2026 By Daniel Sarach

If teamwork makes the dream work, then PEAK is the dream that falls off a cliff — together.

Reviewed on PC.Score: 7.5/10

If you’ve ever wanted to fall off a mountain with style — and preferably while dragging your friends with you — PEAK might be your next favorite disaster. Released on June 16th, 2025 for just $7.99, this physics-based co-op climbing game throws you into daily-changing terrain, questionable snacks, and endless hilarious failures.

What Is PEAK?

Developed during a whirlwind February by a team of seven — including creators behind hits like Stick Fight and Going Under — PEAK is a survival-climber mashup where the only way to win is to not fall (too often). You play as lost nature scouts trying to escape a mysterious island by scaling its deadly centerpiece: the PEAK.

“The slightest mistake can spell your doom.” That’s not marketing fluff — it’s a fact of life in this game. One slip, and it’s back to the last campfire. If your friends are around, expect them to laugh first and help second.

Key Features

  • 4-player co-op: Invite up to three friends through Steam (friends-only matchmaking)
  • Daily map rotation: A new procedurally-generated mountain to tackle every 24 hours
  • Chaotic physics: Wobbly, unpredictable movement that turns every climb into a comedy sketch
  • Questionable food: Recover stamina with things like suspicious berries and mystery meat
  • Cosmetics and badges: Prove your scout skills by unlocking flair for your character
  • Ghosts: Replays of past runs haunting the mountain with your old failures

A Game Built for Laughs, Not Longevity

Three scout characters cross a rickety wooden bridge at sunset in the game PEAK, with the sun reflecting off the water in the distance.

In short bursts, PEAK is fantastic. It’s the kind of game that turns teamwork into slapstick chaos — from flinging each other off ledges to failing to use ropes properly. But after a few sessions, the novelty does wear thin. The challenges can start to feel repetitive, and without deeper progression or varied content, its staying power is limited.

Three colorful scout characters approach a massive rocky mountain in the middle of a desert biome, surrounded by palm trees and cliffs.

That said, at $7.99, it doesn’t need to be a 100-hour epic. It’s a perfectly priced party game — one that’s best enjoyed in small, laughter-filled doses.

Final Verdict

PEAK is a quirky, chaotic co-op climb-em-up that knows exactly what it wants to be. It’s not deep, it’s not serious, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome. If you’ve got three friends and two hours to kill, this is a mountain worth falling off — repeatedly.
