Dung Ho! Gets Its Biggest Update Yet With Pirates and More Co-op Chaos

Posted on July 28, 2026July 28, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Pirates of the Veld expands the physics-based dung beetle adventure

Dung Ho! has rolled out its biggest update yet, bringing pirate enemies, new challenges, additional items, and more than 80 cosmetics to the co-op physics game.

Lesser Weevil has released the Pirates of the Veld update for Dung Ho!, expanding the game with new enemies and activities for players tackling its strange journey alone or with friends.

The update adds pirate enemies, the new Bobbin’s Nightmare climbing challenge, a Safari expansion, additional items, achievements, and more than 80 cosmetic options.

Fun for a while, but still fairly limited

After playing Dung Ho!, I found it entertaining for a while. Much of the comedy comes from the physics, awkward movement, and the simple challenge of keeping the dung ball under control while the environment and other players create problems.

The unpredictable physics can send players flying through the environment.

It reminded me slightly of Mr. Sleepy Man, mainly because both games use strange characters, clumsy movement, and unpredictable situations to create comedy.

The difference is that there is not nearly as much to do in Dung Ho!. Its main idea can be funny, particularly with friends, but the gameplay loop starts to feel limited after a while. The new update gives players more content to work through, although this still feels best suited to short co-op sessions rather than long periods of play.

Rolling home with up to six beetles

Dung Ho! can be played alone or online with up to six players. The goal is to guide a ball of dung across the African wilderness while avoiding animals, environmental hazards, deep drops, small obstacles, and friends who may be more dangerous than the wildlife.

Players must work together to guide the dung ball across difficult terrain.

Players must find additional dung to repair the ball and collect useful items along the way. Individual sessions are designed to last around 30 to 60 minutes, keeping the experience relatively quick and accessible.
