DreadOut Remastered Collection: Launches Switch & PS4/PS5 in January 2025

Posted on January 8, 2025July 1, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Singapore-based publisher Soft Source Publishing, in collaboration with Digital Happiness, has officially announced the DreadOut Remastered Collection. This spine-chilling bundle will launch worldwide on January 16, 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. It brings back the original cult-favorite DreadOut alongside its haunting companion game DreadOut: Keepers of the Dark—both updated for the current console generation.

About the DreadOut Remastered Collection

This remastered collection brings together two terrifying tales from the DreadOut universe. These titles offer both nostalgia for long-time fans and an accessible entry point for newcomers to experience Indonesian horror through fresh lenses. With updated visuals and enhanced gameplay for modern platforms, the collection is a celebration of Southeast Asian horror storytelling at its finest.

DreadOut

The original DreadOut centers around a group of high school students whose field trip takes a dark turn. After veering off course, they discover a forgotten Indonesian town—abandoned, eerie, and filled with supernatural forces. As the students unravel the town’s secrets, players experience intense jump scares, cryptic puzzles, and a story inspired by local mythologies. The protagonist, Linda, uses her smartphone camera to combat and survive the ghostly encounters.

DreadOut: Keepers of the Dark

In this standalone companion, Linda once again steps into danger—this time within the Mirror Realm. Accessible through a cursed portal, this dimension is split into eight haunted domains, each one home to a unique ghost and mystery. The gameplay is more focused on combat and confrontation, building on the foundations of the first title while delivering a series of escalating horrors.

Soft Source Publishing

Based in Singapore, Soft Source Publishing has been steadily building a strong indie catalog. Their portfolio includes acclaimed indie releases such as The Sun Shines Over Us, GRIME, and Blazing Strike. With DreadOut, they continue their focus on meaningful games that resonate with regional and global audiences alike.
