Warsaw, Poland – October 10th, 2024 — The sixth major content update for Timberborn has arrived, and it’s the most ambitious yet. Titled “The Wonders of Water,” this update brings transformative features to the beloved lumberpunk city builder, including 3D water simulation, vertical expansion tools, faction-specific monuments, and long-awaited mod support.
3D Water Physics Transform the Landscape
The core of Update 6 is Timberborn’s new 3D water system. No longer limited to flat-plane flow, water now behaves more realistically—flowing over terrain, around structures, and even becoming polluted. Players can create aqueducts, underwater tunnels, or entirely submerged cities using automated sluices and waterproof building materials. The new system introduces risk, creativity, and a deeper challenge to water-based engineering.
Vertical Power and Overhangs Expand Creativity
Update 6 also unlocks a new dimension of creativity with overhanging platforms and vertical power shafts. These changes mean you can now build multi-tiered cities, intricate vertical machinery, and high-rise towers, opening a whole new level of depth to architectural planning in Timberborn.
Faction Wonders Add Purpose to the Endgame
Each faction now gets a unique, monumental structure that reflects their identity and vision for restoring the world:
- Folktails: Earth Recultivator – releases seed-carrying balloons across the landscape.
- Iron Teeth: Earth Repopulator – launches beavers in gliders to settle distant lands.
These awe-inspiring structures are more than decorative—they’re powerful symbols of each faction’s ecological commitment.
New Map and Beaver Customization
Update 6 introduces a new map called Cliffside, which features dramatic terrain ideal for testing water physics and elevation-based design. Several existing maps have also been revamped. A new “Detailer” building lets you personalize your beavers’ tail markings, giving players a way to express their creativity right down to the characters themselves.
