The arcade shooter returns with mouse controls and a wider view
Time Crisis has a fan-made native PC version through spacestate1‘s namco22-decompile project. The original arcade program has been translated into C, with downloadable builds for Windows and Linux. It is an unofficial project, separate from Bandai Namco.
It follows the kind of fan-led work we recently covered with the Dead Rising 2: Case Zero and Case West PC recompilations.

A wider view, with a few caveats
According to the project documentation, widescreen mode reveals more scenery at the sides without stretching the picture. Mouse aiming is supported, with the right mouse button handling the arcade pedal’s cover and reload functions.
The 0.5.3 update, released on October 4, lists Windows crash fixes and a crosshair toggle. The documentation also describes support for light guns that behave as an absolute mouse, but the creator says real light-gun hardware has not been tested.
You still need the original game files
Downloads do not include the arcade game’s assets. Players must supply their own original game files. The project documentation identifies the required set as timecris, World, TS2 Ver.B.
There is another important limit: the creator has not compared this reconstruction against MAME frame by frame or note by note. Small differences may remain.
Fix Gaming Channel has not tested this build or verified its behavior on a 32:9 display. For now, it is an interesting fan project for arcade players, with compatibility still developing.
