White Knuckle: A Speed-Climbing Horror Roguelite Teaser

Posted on March 5, 2025July 3, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Los Angeles, USA — March 4, 2025 — After a standout showing at Steam Next Fest, Dark Machine Games, in partnership with publisher DreadXP, has released a chilling new teaser for their upcoming horror roguelite, White Knuckle. Launching into Early Access later this year, the game introduces players to a brutal, speed-climbing experience set within the nightmarish megastructure of SUB-STRUCTURE 17.

SUB-STRUCTURE 17: The First Glimpse of Terror

The new teaser immerses players in SUB-STRUCTURE 17, one of the game’s haunted underground biomes. This decaying vertical labyrinth is filled with collapsing architecture, deadly ooze, and relentless hazards. You play as a lone climber, trapped and desperately scaling the walls of a long-forgotten megacomplex.

Survive the Ascent or Die Trying

Precision movement and razor-sharp timing are essential to survival. Players must vault across broken beams, grapple over toxic sludge, and outrun a rising ooze that punishes hesitation. Mistakes are costly—but the roguelite design ensures each failure is a learning opportunity.

Biome Variety and Escalating Danger

As climbers progress, they encounter radically different environments such as the Silos and Habitation Piers, each biome introducing unique environmental challenges and enemy threats. Every vertical zone ratchets up the danger, pushing players to the edge both mechanically and mentally.

Roguelite Progression: Perks Between Runs

White Knuckle rewards persistence. Between runs, players can unlock and upgrade perks to enhance climbing speed, stamina, and jump height—tools that will be crucial in outpacing the nightmares crawling up from below. With each climb, you inch closer to mastering the mechanics and escaping the abyss.

Try the Demo Now on Steam

While the Early Access launch is still ahead, players can already test their reflexes in the free demo available on Steam. With over 1,300 reviews and a 98% Overwhelmingly Positive rating, White Knuckle is quickly gaining traction as one of the most intense horror roguelites in development.
