Cyberpunk boomer-shooter Beyond Sunset leaves Early Access on September 12 with a five-episode campaign and full mod support
Beyond Sunset release date is set for September 12, 2025. From Metacorp / Vaporware and publisher Movie Games S.A., Beyond Sunset hits 1.0, wrapping Lucy’s hunt for her past across a complete five-episode story.
Expect high-velocity dash/slide movement, katana-and-guns loadouts, open levels, and a synthwave score—plus the final episodes and broad polish at launch. If you’ve been waiting for the full campaign, this 1.0 build adds the last chapters and tightens combat, traversal, and balance across the earlier episodes.

Why 1.0 matters
Beyond Sunset has always been about speed and style: chaining dashes, slides, and wall-skims while swapping between SMGs, shotguns, and a razor-clean katana. The full release pulls it together with new locations, bosses, and story beats that close Lucy’s arc in Sunset City. If you enjoy retro shooters with light RPG hubs, side gigs, and a neon-drenched soundtrack, this sits squarely in that lane.
The game’s GZDoom lineage also means strong mod roots and a community that loves to tinker. The developers note that mod support and tools remain a pillar after launch, so expect custom maps and tweaks to follow 1.0.
