Bodycam Locked & Loaded Update Is Out Now, but Several Features Are Missing

Posted on September 3, 2026September 3, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Bodycam v0.8 adds Trenches, 400 attachments and major reworks, while Zombies, parties and other features remain unavailable

Bodycam‘s major Locked & Loaded update is available now, bringing a substantial overhaul to the Early Access shooter while removing, disabling or delaying several features.

Bodycam has received its v0.8 Locked & Loaded update, with Reissad Studio releasing the free overhaul on September 2, 2026.

The update introduces the new Trenches map, around 400 weapon attachments, new weapons, rebuilt first-person animations, a major audio overhaul, FPV drones, RC cars, a new shooting-range hub and an in-game tablet interface.

Audio is also a major part of the overhaul. Fix Gaming Channel recently spoke with Bodycam voice actor Brian Watts about his work on the game, realistic vocal performances and its approach to sound.

Bodybomb is gone and Wingman arrives with limitations

One of the biggest changes is the removal of Bodybomb 5v5. Reissad Studio has retired the mode and replaced it with Wingman 2v2 as Bodycam’s default competitive mode.

Wingman currently supports solo queue only, with duo queue planned for later. Matchmaking is not yet skill-based, rewards are currently fixed, and players cannot join matches already in progress.

The planned Party System also missed the update. Quick Play and the Server Browser can currently only be used solo. Players who want to play with friends need to use the Custom tab or separately join the same server.

Bodycam continues to evolve through Early Access with the major Locked & Loaded update.

Zombies is disabled and two maps are missing

Zombie mode is temporarily disabled in v0.8. Reissad Studio plans to bring it back around Halloween, potentially with new content, after further work to integrate the mode with the updated systems.

Oil Rig and Tumblewood are also absent. Reissad says it has future plans for both maps but has not announced when they will return.

Voice chat has meanwhile been rebuilt through Epic Online Services, although there is still no option to mute other players. Language support and real-money shop purchases are also temporarily disabled.

What Locked & Loaded adds

The missing features come alongside a significant amount of new content. The new loadout system includes around 400 attachments covering optics, suppressors, magazines, grips, stocks, ammunition and other weapon components.

The Trenches map mixes flooded and dry trench networks with tunnels, forest areas, ruined compounds and longer sightlines. The update also introduces FPV drones and RC cars, new and returning weapons, redesigned animations, new progression systems and extensive changes to audio and graphics.

Bodycam remains peer-to-peer, but v0.8 adds Host Migration. If the original host disconnects during a supported match, another player can take over rather than the entire lobby immediately being disconnected.
