Sneak, Steal, and Escape—Solo or Online Co-op
Crime Simulator is played from a first-person view. You take on the role of a criminal trying to rise in the underworld. Missions can be played alone or with friends in online co-op for up to four players.
Most jobs are built around careful planning. You break into houses, shops, and other locations to steal goods, destroy targets, or complete special tasks. Staying quiet is usually the best choice. Direct fighting is possible, but it is risky and meant to be used only when things go wrong.
Your main goals are simple: earn money, steal valuable items, and get out safely. Each successful run helps you move up from small-time thief to bigger and more complex jobs.
Progress, Skills, and Tools
After each mission, you can spend your earnings and experience points. This mod lets you:
- Unlock new skills that improve sneaking, movement, and combat.
- Buy better equipment, such as advanced tools and gear.
- Upgrade your hideout, which acts as your base between missions.
During heists, you have access to a variety of tools and weapons. These include lockpicks, crowbars, silenced pistols, drones, and scanners. Picking the right tools for a mission can make the difference between a clean theft and a quick arrest.
New Map, New Dangers, and Future Updates
The game is still being updated. The Xbox Series X|S release includes the latest content already built in.
Version 1.2 adds:
- A new map: Rural Arizona, with fresh routes and hiding spots.
- New threats like motion sensors that punish careless movement.
- Cars you can steal and drive, changing how you move around during a job.
The next major patch, called the Jewels Update (Version 1.3), is planned for early 2026. It will be a free update and will introduce:
- New systems for stealing jewels.
- New game modes such as Thief Competition Mode, where players race to earn the most loot.
- Impostor Mode, where one player may secretly work against the group.
Release Dates, Platforms, and Price
Crime Simulator launches on Xbox Series X|S on December 1, 2025. The PlayStation 5 version is planned for the first quarter of 2026. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also in development.
The standard console price is $19.99 USD / EUR, or the regional equivalent. Several discounts are planned:
- Microsoft Store: 20% pre-order discount, plus an extra 10% off at launch.
- Steam: 30% discount from December 1–3.
If you enjoy slow, careful heist planning with the option for loud mistakes and shared laughter with friends, Crime Simulator aims to give you plenty of missions to learn, fail, and finally pull off the perfect job.
