Agent 47 Goes Virtual

The Movie Hero stepped into HITMAN 3 VR: Reloaded to see how Agent 47’s precision, sandbox freedom, and assassination tools translated into virtual reality.

Guest review by The Movie Hero.

Ever thought about what it’s like to be a world-class assassin in virtual reality? I took on the challenge in HITMAN 3 VR: Reloaded, stepping into the shoes of Agent 47 to see how the series translated into an immersive and occasionally disorienting VR experience.

VR gaming has its quirks, and HITMAN 3 VR was no exception. Adjusting to the controllers felt like learning to be an assassin from scratch. That could be frustrating, but it was also part of the experience. Mastery was not immediate, and successful moments felt more satisfying once the controls started to make sense.

A Smaller-Feeling Sandbox

A big draw of the HITMAN series is the freedom to explore and interact with expansive environments. VR naturally changed how that freedom felt. I missed some of the effortless breadth of assassination options from the traditional game, although what remained was still detailed and built around direct VR interaction.

Visuals and Action

Physically handling weapons and interacting with Agent 47’s tools made familiar actions feel different, even when the underlying missions were known. At the same time, rough edges were harder to ignore in VR because movement and object interaction need to feel natural to sell the illusion.

A Mixed Bag of Tricks and Treats

HITMAN 3 VR: Reloaded felt like an ambitious attempt to bring a complex stealth sandbox into standalone VR. Some parts worked better than others, but the game still offered a different way to experience Agent 47’s world.

Conclusion

HITMAN 3 VR: Reloaded offers a mixed-reality version of a game I thought I knew. It is rough around the edges but still delivers a version of Agent 47’s world worth exploring for fans of the franchise or VR players looking for something more ambitious.

Final Verdict

It is not perfect, but it was a bold step for VR gaming. If you could adapt to its quirks, it rewarded you with something close to the fantasy of being a globe-trotting assassin—minus the legal and moral complications.
