Tap Wizard 2 pixel art heroes casting spells in retro fantasy style

Tap Wizard 2: A New Adventure Awaits on Xbox

Posted on January 4, 2025May 2, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

The magical world of Tap Wizard 2 is about to reach a broader audience with its upcoming launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. Scheduled for release on January 7, 2025, this idle fantasy RPG mixes spellcasting, tactical thinking, and arcade-style survival to create a uniquely addicting experience. Developed by indie studio TopCog and published by Ultimate Games S.A., the game brings its colorful retro charm and deep progression system to console players for the first time.

Gameplay Mechanics and Features

Tap Wizard 2 blends classic RPG spellcasting with idle-style automation and tactical survival mechanics. As a player, you take on the role of a lone wizard standing against dark forces—choosing your loadout of spells, traits, and runes before watching your wizard unleash chaos in battle automatically.

Core Gameplay Loop

  • Choose from various elemental spells: fire, ice, lightning, and more
  • Equip runes, totems, and traits to build your perfect wizard
  • Face waves of enemies in side-scrolling arenas
  • Continue progressing even after defeat with persistent upgrades

The game rewards experimentation and long-term progression. You may fail a run, but the XP and power you earn remain with you—making each run easier, stronger, and more strategic.

Visual Style and Worldbuilding

With charming pixel art graphics and a retro fantasy atmosphere, Tap Wizard 2 delivers both nostalgia and novelty. The game world is filled with magical zones and themed enemy waves, supported by a soundtrack that fits the tension of endless magical warfare. It’s casual in design but offers surprising depth.

Content and Replayability

Beyond the initial campaign structure, players can dive into special seasonal events, unique unlockable powers, and long-term goals. The system is designed for idle fans who enjoy depth without pressure and tactical players who love planning effective builds. The more time you put in, the stronger your wizard becomes—and the further you push into endless challenges.
