Recharge RC racing game — nostalgia meets modern sim-cade thrills
I just tested the Recharge RC racing game with AI drivers, and it clicked right away. I’ve had great fun with real RC racing in the past, and Recharge feels “somewhat realistic” in the best way—responsive, weighty, and fun. Picking a Game of the Week is rarely easy; this one wasn’t hard.
What it is — an indie RC car game in Unreal
Recharge is a sim-cade RC racer from indie studio Room Games built in Unreal Engine. Race solo or online, tune performance, and customize bodies/paint across tracks inspired by real RC circuits and real-world locations. As an indie RC racing game, it aims to balance physics-led handling with accessible, pick-up-and-play fun. You can jump into quick races against AI or spend time dialing in motors, ESC, and chassis setups like a true RC enthusiast.

Why it works
- Handling that sells the illusion: planted, reactive, with that “miniature mass.”
- Inputs that make sense: supports gamepads and RC-style transmitters.
- Jump in or tinker: AI races and time chase plus motor/ESC/chassis tuning and full visuals.
- Play together: online lobbies up to 12 players.
