Ricochet Rodeo the Wild West Meets Chaotic Pvp Brawling Coming to Steam This October

Posted on August 23, 2024January 5, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

8-player cowboy brawler from Western Australia

Perth, Western Australia—August 23, 2024 —
Echidna Studios, an independent game developer based in Western Australia,
is thrilled to announce Ricochet Rodeo, an 8-player cowboy brawler that brings
a fresh twist to PvP arena games. Set to launch on Steam in late October 2024, this Wild West
showdown mixes skill, chaos, and slapstick physics into one unique multiplayer experience.

Gameplay that packs a punch

Ricochet Rodeo isn’t just another shooter; it’s a physics-driven battle arena
where every bullet can end the game—and they bounce. Players must dodge
shots, deflect bullets with knives, toss dynamite, and use the Y button not
only to attack but also to dance.

The result is a blend the team describes as 50% skill and 200% chaos, where
every match is unpredictable, loud, and endlessly replayable. One well-placed ricochet can win
the round… or take you out by accident.

Designed for accessibility and fun

Ricochet Rodeo uses minimalist controls, optimised to work comfortably on a
single Joy-Con. That makes it easy for players of all skill levels to jump in, mash a few
buttons, and start laughing as bullets ping across the map.

Whether you are playing local couch co-op with friends or connecting online,
up to 8 players can join the fray. The arenas use a colourful, retro
pixel-art style powered by modern Unreal Engine 5 tech,
offering a nostalgic look with crisp, modern presentation.

Coming soon to Steam and more

After a successful preview during Steam Next Fest, Ricochet Rodeo is gearing
up for its first release on Steam this July, with plans to expand to
all major consoles shortly afterward. No matter your preferred platform,
you’ll be able to saddle up and join the brawl.

Keep an eye on the game’s Steam page and official channels for final release dates and
platform announcements as the launch window approaches.

Join the community and closed beta

Players eager to get an early taste of the action are invited to join the
Echidna Studios Discord. Community members will gain access to the
Closed Beta, offering a chance to play Ricochet Rodeo before release,
share feedback, and help polish the final build.

It’s also the best place to find other cowpokes ready for 8-player chaos, report bugs, and
share highlight clips of the wildest ricochets and close calls.
