Players battling supernatural enemies together in Sker Ritual

Sker Ritual Review (PC): Relentless Horror Action with a Strong Loop

Posted on January 5, 2024January 16, 2026 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Immediate thrills and endless waves of survival horror chaos

Reviewed on PC.Score: 7.5/10

Sker Ritual wastes no time throwing you into the fight. It’s a fast-paced survival horror FPS built around relentless enemy waves, tight movement, and that constant “one more round” pressure where a single mistake can snowball fast.

Whether you play solo or with friends, the loop is simple and satisfying: hold your ground, learn the patterns, upgrade smart, and keep moving. If you like co-op shooters that reward teamwork and quick decisions, this one has the right kind of bite.

Sker Ritual

Release: April 18, 2024

Genre: Horror, FPS, Survival, Co-op

Developer / Publisher: Wales Interactive

Platforms: PC — Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S

Why this game feels different

This isn’t just another wave shooter with a horror skin. The enemy design (including The Quiet Ones) leans into pressure and disruption, forcing you to react instead of standing still and farming easy rounds. The pace stays aggressive, and the game pushes you to stay alert and reposition constantly.

You’ll also find a fun mix of weapon upgrades and build choices that can shift how a run plays out — especially in co-op, where roles naturally form when everyone commits to a plan.

Build your own playstyle

Sker Ritual gives you room to experiment. Perks, upgrades, and loadouts create that “okay, next run I’m doing it differently” momentum. If you enjoy learning a system and refining a build over time, it’s the kind of game that keeps pulling you back.

Cosmetics and unlocks help too — not because they’re essential, but because they give you a sense of progress while the difficulty stays honest.

I played it, left it, then came back

I don’t often return to games like this once the first “new release” period is over — but Sker Ritual was one I ended up revisiting. Coming back with fresh eyes made the improvements and the flow of the combat stand out even more, and it reminded me why the core loop works so well.

If you’re curious, you can find both sessions on my channel and see how the experience holds up across time.

Should you play it?

If you enjoy co-op shooters, spooky settings, and challenging wave-based gameplay, Sker Ritual is an easy recommendation. It’s intense, satisfying, and built for players who like fast decisions and teamwork under pressure.
