Forget Celebrations DLC artwork from This War of Mine’s 10th anniversary charity release

Forget Celebrations This War of Mine Charity Dlc Launches December 11th

Posted on December 11, 2024July 3, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

As This War of Mine turns ten, 11 bit studios is bypassing traditional celebration and instead reinforcing the game’s legacy of empathy and action. On December 11th, the studio will launch the Forget Celebrations charity DLC, available exclusively for the Steam version of the game.

Charity Over Celebration: Where Proceeds Go

For just $2.99, players can support a worthy cause while continuing their journey through This War of Mine. All proceeds from the Forget Celebrations DLC will go directly to:

  • Liberty Ukraine Foundation
  • Amnesty International
  • War Child
  • Indie Games Poland Foundation

This initiative follows earlier efforts such as the War Child Charity DLC (2015) and campaigns during the war in Ukraine. Combined, these charity-driven releases have raised over $1.5 million for humanitarian causes.

Crafted by the Original Creators

The Forget Celebrations content was developed by some of the original minds behind This War of Mine. This includes:

  • Kacper Kwiatkowski and Grzegorz Mazur, now founders of Vile Monarch
  • Piotr Rogoża, an acclaimed Polish novelist
  • Wojciech Setlak, one of the game’s original narrative designers

Their combined expertise ensures that the tone and themes of the DLC remain consistent with the original game—emotive, sincere, and painfully human.

Soundtrack Gets a Long-Awaited Vinyl Release

To further commemorate the anniversary, the game’s critically praised soundtrack, composed by Piotr Musiał, will finally be available on vinyl. The release is in partnership with Black Screen Records, and fans can now pre-order this hauntingly evocative score.

A Decade of Gaming That Mattered

“For ten years, This War of Mine has portrayed the civilian experience of war with unflinching honesty. Its universal tale of struggle and hope has become a call to action,”
— Przemysław Marszał, CEO, 11 bit studios

The anniversary DLC isn’t about nostalgia—it’s about reminding us what matters most. This War of Mine continues to stand as one of the most emotionally impactful games ever created, and Forget Celebrations carries that message forward into real-world action.
