World of Sea Battle 2026 Roadmap: Four Major Updates Planned

Posted on February 10, 2026February 26, 2026 By Aidan Minter

Thera Interactive charts four major updates for 2026 — starting with “New Horizon” in Q1

World of Sea Battle is a free-to-play, open-world MMO set in the Golden Age of Sail — and the team has now published a detailed development plan for 2026, outlining four major content updates across the year.

If you’ve been following the broader “ships and salt” corner of PC gaming lately, this one lands in the same conversation as our Pirate Season Is Back: 10 Games to Play in 2026 list — and it scratches a similar itch to other sea-focused reads we’ve covered, like Age of Water: The First Voyage and Crosswind.

2026 roadmap highlights

The big picture is clear: 2026 is structured around four major beats — new Archipelago progression and ship skill changes first, then new ships and deeper guild systems, followed by an Endless Sea endgame push, and a late-year overhaul aimed at making port warfare and city ownership more accessible.

Q1 2026 — Major update B19 “New Horizon”

  • New quest system: “Exploration of the Archipelago” (Part 1: Regions), where each region includes a special point of interest that rewards lore fragments and items.
  • Unique active skills for Imperial-class ships.
  • New passive abilities for all ships.
  • System / UI changes including updates to the flag system and a new logbook interface.
  • Spring Festival event (March), plus planned quality-of-life features like account transfer and an Asia server rollout.

    World of Sea Battle

Release: Early Access (Oct 21, 2025)

Genre: Action, Massively Multiplayer, RPG, Free to Play, Early Access

    Developer / Publisher: Thera Interactive

    Platforms: PC (Steam)

Q2 2026 — Major update B20 “Sea Dominion”

  • Archipelago exploration continues (Part 2: Collections).
  • Four new ships.
  • Faction + guild development (deeper guild progression, bonuses, and seasonal rewards).
  • Anniversary event (June).

Second half of 2026 — B21 “Through the Storm”

  • Endless Sea expansion with new locations, resources, and mechanics positioned as a high-end loop.
  • New shipyard structure and additional ships.
  • Halloween event (October).

Late 2026 — Major update B22

  • Port battles + city ownership rework, with a focus on improving accessibility and participation.
  • Polish pass across earlier 2026 content (balance, interface improvements, and mechanics tweaks).
  • Christmas and New Year event (December / January).
