PAX West 2026 Coverage Hub: Indie Games and Hands-On Reports

Posted on September 8, 2026September 9, 2026 By Jake Boyette

All of Fix Gaming Channel’s PAX West 2026 coverage in one place

From Jake Boyette’s first walk onto the show floor to three days of indie games, developer conversations, PAX Rising, The MIX, Seattle Indies Expo, and a Game of the Week pick, this is our complete PAX West 2026 coverage hub.

Fix Gaming Channel sent Jake Boyette to PAX West 2026 with one main goal: find indie games worth spending time with and talk to the people making them. What followed was three days of hands-on reports covering the main show floor, PAX Rising, the Indie Incubator, The MIX, student projects, and the Seattle Indies Expo.

This page brings those reports together so you can follow the trip from the beginning or jump directly to a particular day. It also includes Fugue Shot, one of Jake’s discoveries at PAX Rising, which went on to become our Game of the Week #70.

Start here: Fix Gaming Channel heads to PAX West 2026

Before the show began, Jake laid out what he was looking for at PAX West: independent games that deserved more attention, developers worth talking to, and the possibility of finding something he had never heard of before arriving in Seattle.

Day 1: Indie games take the spotlight

Day 1 moved quickly from WOLFHOUND and a conversation with lead developer James Petruzzi to Trainwatch, CROP, Valor Mortis, and the physical No, I’m Not a Human arcade. Jake then left PAX for The MIX, where the indie search continued into the evening.

Day 2: Indie Incubator and PAX Rising surprises

The second report pushed deeper into the Indie Incubator and PAX Rising. Jake played Ascent: Rivals, The Box is Alive, Madjack Vs Magic, T.W.I.R.L., God Save Birmingham, Springs, Eternal, Don’t Wake the Beast, and Fugue Shot.

Day 3: PAX Rising, Brigador Killers, and Seattle Indies Expo

Day 3 widened the coverage beyond the main show floor. Jake returned to PAX Rising and the Indie Incubator, checked in with Brigador Killers, visited DigiPen’s student games, tried the physical Buckshot Roulette experience, and then cut his PAX day short to cover the Seattle Indies Expo.

From PAX Rising to Game of the Week #70: Fugue Shot

Fugue Shot: Minigame Roguelike stood out enough during Day 2 that it earned its own article. Its collection of increasingly demanding minigames, strange dreamlike presentation, and roguelite progression turned a PAX discovery into our Game of the Week #70.
