Operate Massive Machinery and Launch a Shuttle in Giant Machines 2017, Coming to PS5 This August

Posted on August 1, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Time to crush rocks, move mountains, and send a space shuttle into orbit—right from your PlayStation 5.

On August 7, 2025, the heavy-duty simulator Giant Machines 2017 is making its way to PlayStation 5. Originally developed for PC by Polish studio Code Horizon, the game lets you operate 7 of the world’s most powerful industrial machines through a physics-driven campaign that culminates in launching a space shuttle. The game is already available on PC and Xbox Series X|S. If quirky simulations are more your flavor, check out our feature on Organic Burger Simulator, where fast food meets mayhem.

Built by the Team Behind Gold Mining Simulator

Code Horizon, best known for Gold Mining Simulator, delivers another realistic industrial experience with full physics simulation and first-person cockpit views. Console publishing is handled by Ultimate Games S.A., who continues bringing niche simulator titles to console players.

Campaign Across Continents—To the Final Launch

Giant Machines 2017 features a structured 14-mission campaign that takes players across Greenland, Canada, and parts of the United States—including Wyoming, Missouri, and Florida. Your ultimate task? Prepare and launch a space shuttle to the International Space Station.

Each machine is recreated with precision and realism, from analog controls for pistons and hydraulic systems to full cockpit immersion. Machines include a space shuttle crawler-transporter, a mountain-demolition rig, heavy-duty bulldozers, massive cranes, and excavation equipment used in everything from ore extraction to steel cutting.
