A wooden puzzle world that slowly fills with color, movement, and memory
Woodo launches today, September 16, and Tiny Monks Tales’ handcrafted diorama puzzler is our Fix Gaming Channel Game of the Day.
We already had Woodo on our 5 More Indie Games to Watch in 2026 list earlier this month. Now launch day is here, and the idea that caught our attention is still the reason it stands out: build small wooden scenes piece by piece and watch them gradually come alive.
A free Steam demo is also available for anyone who wants to try its relaxed puzzle structure first.

Building the world piece by piece
Woodo is built around handcrafted wooden dioramas that begin incomplete. Objects need to be placed in the right positions, gradually adding color, movement, animations, and small details to each scene.
You can rotate and inspect the 3D space to uncover pieces hidden from the first viewing angle, making the diorama itself part of the puzzle.
Foxy stands among wooden puzzle pieces, with a backpack, magnifying glass, and pencil displayed in the item panel.
The result looks more like a wooden toy set or model kit than a conventional puzzle screen, with unfinished pieces slowly becoming colorful little environments.
A story inside the wooden scenes
Woodo follows Foxy and Ben the Frog through a series of interconnected scenes, with each completed puzzle revealing another moment from their shared adventure.
A goose leans toward Foxy on a pink path lined with wooden flowers.
Foxy is a city girl experiencing a different kind of life in the countryside, while the wider story focuses on childhood, creativity, growth, friendship, and connection. Laurence Olivier Award winner Miriam-Teak Lee provides the narration.
That handcrafted approach is part of what made Salt & Soul stand out during Steam Next Fest as well. They are very different games, but both rely on a clear visual identity rather than overwhelming the player with systems.
No timer pushing you through it
Woodo is designed around a low-pressure pace. There are no timers demanding that you finish a scene quickly.
You can look around, work out which piece belongs where, place it, and see how the scene changes. That slower pace fits the toy-box idea far better than turning every puzzle into a race.
Why Woodo is our Game of the Day
There are bigger and louder games fighting for attention every week. Woodo is doing almost the opposite.
Handcrafted wooden scenes, hidden pieces, little objects scattered around a 3D space, and dioramas that slowly gain color and life give it an identity that is easy to understand almost immediately.
That is exactly what keeps smaller releases interesting and why games like this continue to earn a place in our indie coverage.
We put Woodo on our watchlist before launch. Today it finally becomes a released game.
Woodo is today’s Fix Gaming Channel Game of the Day.
