Posted on July 2, 2024September 2, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

Sony continues its legacy of platforming innovation with the upcoming release of ASTRO BOT: Galactic Journey for PlayStation 5. Developed by Team Asobi, this new installment promises an expanded journey through the stars, complete with enhanced gameplay, iconic cameos, and over 80 colorful levels to explore.

A Journey Through PlayStation’s Heart

ASTRO BOT is no stranger to PlayStation fans. Ever since his debut in Astro’s Playroom, he’s helped showcase the DualSense controller’s unique features and celebrated the heritage of PlayStation. According to Doucet, “We received a ton of heart-warming comments about how much fun the game was, how it utilized the DualSense wireless controller in fun ways, and how it paid tribute to 25 years of PlayStation history.”

Explore Six Galaxies and Over 80 Levels

This isn’t just a small step—it’s a giant leap. ASTRO’s new mission spans six expansive galaxies filled with more than 80 action-packed levels. Whether it’s platforming, puzzle-solving, or boss battles, each level will push players to discover new surprises with every jump and jetpack boost.

Feel Every Step With DualSense Innovation

With the PS5’s hardware fully utilized, gameplay becomes an immersive delight. Players can enjoy over 15 new abilities, such as springy arms, jetpacks, and deployable helpers—all enhanced by the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers of the DualSense controller. Every motion and vibration is carefully tuned for tactile immersion.

Meet Familiar Friends from Across the PlayStation Universe

In a surprise crossover celebration, the game will feature cameos and interactions with legendary PlayStation characters. Though the trailer only reveals a few, Team Asobi hints there are many more awaiting discovery. PlayStation fans should keep their eyes peeled for nostalgic nods throughout the journey.

Developer Passion in Every Pixel

Team Asobi’s commitment to fun is evident in every corner of the experience. Doucet adds, “We invested all our love and craft to bring a constant smile to your face, as you run, jump, bop enemies, and find the many secrets and jokes we dotted around.”
