Astronomics Launches in Steam Early Access February 10

Prepare for liftoff as Numizmatic, the award-winning Toronto-based indie studio, brings its latest project, Astronomics, to Steam Early Access on February 10, 2025. This top-down action, space exploration, and resource automation title offers an ambitious mix of adventure and strategy—blending the excitement of mining, building, and surviving among the stars.

From Freelancer to Fortune Seeker

In Astronomics, players take on the role of an independent contractor navigating the asteroid belt. The goal? Gather valuable resources, automate mining operations, fend off space pirates, and earn enough wealth to buy a one-way ticket back to Earth—a world your character has never actually visited. Every mission combines the thrill of survival with the satisfaction of building a self-sustaining mining empire.

Key Gameplay Features

Numizmatic’s newest creation offers a balance of hands-on action and deep strategic management. Some of the standout features include:

  • Top-Down Action: Pilot your shuttle manually through a physics-driven sandbox. Jump over craters, toss resources, and fight off pirates in real-time battles.
  • Expansive Space Exploration: Traverse a mining claim spanning 600 KKM wide and infinitely deep. Discover new asteroid types, upgrade your tools, and negotiate with corporations offering contracts and tech.
  • Asteroid Mining Automation: Build and optimize mining networks across unique asteroids. Design efficient systems to automate resource extraction and boost production rates.
  • Micro-to-Macro Management: Manage operations on two levels—exploring in your small shuttle while your Freighter’s Manufacturing Bay refines materials and fulfills trade contracts in the background.

About the Developers

Numizmatic is a Toronto-based indie studio that first gained recognition with Light Fingers (2018) on Nintendo Switch. Known for creative, community-driven projects, the studio continues to expand with support from Ontario Creates. Astronomics is a reflection of that growth—a bold step into the space automation genre that showcases Numizmatic’s talent for blending accessibility with depth.
