Cold Iron Confirms Layoffs as Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Support Continues
Cold Iron Studios, the developer behind Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, has reportedly laid off at least 19 employees. The figure comes from Insider Gaming reporting cited by VGTimes, rather than an official company headcount.
Parent company Enad Global 7 confirmed the staff reduction on September 25, a month after the sequel’s August 25 release. The company says the cuts were part of an existing plan to reduce operating costs and keep the studio sustainable.

Support Continues With a Smaller Team
EG7 says Cold Iron will remain part of Daybreak Game Company and continue working on the game. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is now scheduled for early 2027.
In a studio statement reported by PlayStation Universe on September 28, Cold Iron said its immediate focus is on quality improvements, with a roadmap planned for the coming weeks. It also thanked departing colleagues and said it was helping them through the transition.
EG7‘s announcement does not identify the affected departments or attribute the cuts to sales performance.
