Dune: Awakening opens its first Free Weekend

Dune: Awakening is about to throw open the doors of Arrakis with the Dune Awakening Free Weekend. From September 11–15, Funcom is running the game’s very first Free Weekend — giving everyone a chance to explore the desert world with zero restrictions. And if you like what you play, the game will be discounted by 20% between September 11–22.

Dune: Awakening kicks off its first Free Weekend September 11–15, with full game access and special rewards.

Full access across Arrakis

This isn’t a demo or a slice of content — the Free Weekend includes the entire base game and the upcoming Chapter 2 content update launching September 9. Every zone is open: from the shifting dunes of Hagga Basin to the perilous Deep Desert, and into the heart of Harko Village and Arrakeen City. Whatever you do, all progress will be saved and carries over if you pick up the game after the event.

Exclusive Free Weekend reward

Anyone who plays during the Free Weekend — even current owners — will receive the Arrakis Rising mural, a new decoration for your base. It’s a permanent reminder of when the deserts first opened to everyone.

Why now’s the time

  • Play for free from September 11–15
  • Full base game + Chapter 2 content update
  • No time restrictions, progress is saved
  • Join friends by picking the same World/Sietch
  • 20% off the game September 11–22

Chapter 2 + Lost Harvest arrives September 9

The timing couldn’t be better. Chapter 2 and the new Lost Harvest DLC both launch on September 9, a full day earlier than originally planned. So when the Free Weekend starts, you’ll already have fresh content to dig into, including expanded storylines, new challenges, and additions that build on the survival sandbox.
