A weird-west co-op shooter has become one of Steam’s latest Early Access breakouts
Far Far West has passed 1 million units sold on Steam in less than two weeks after launching into Early Access, giving developer Evil Raptor and publisher Fireshine Games one of the clearest indie breakout stories of 2026 so far.
The western-themed co-op action game launched on Steam Early Access on April 28, 2026. It is built around 1–4 player co-op, with players blasting monsters, using spells, completing missions, collecting bounties, and trying to survive the chaos of a supernatural robot-cowboy frontier.
According to EG7’s announcement, Far Far West reached 1 million units sold in less than two weeks. The company also said the game passed 500,000 units sold in its first days and 700,000 units sold after one week.

That kind of momentum is rare for an Early Access release, especially for a game with such a strange and direct pitch. Far Far West is easy to understand at a glance: robot cowboys, co-op contracts, monsters, spells, bounties, and fast team-based action. In a crowded Steam market, that kind of clarity matters.
The game also had strong traction before launch. EG7 previously reported more than 580,000 Steam wishlists, while the demo had reached a 98 percent positive user rating from more than 6,000 reviews before release.
Far Far West is still in Early Access, so the next test will be how Evil Raptor handles updates, balance, content, and community feedback over time. For now, though, the game has already moved beyond a strong launch and into genuine breakout territory.
