Three Games, Good Conversations, and a Few Laughs
Our Friday in Bangkok brought hands-on time with Wired Productions, a conversation with Jin Oh, and a reminder that event coverage also needs sleep.
Friday, October 30, was the final business and conference day of gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026. According to the organizer’s schedule, it was also the opening day of the entertainment area, which continues through November 1 at QSNCC in Bangkok.
After our earlier look at the international lineup, Friday brought three games to play at Wired Productions and a conversation with Jin Oh.

Elsewhere on the Day 2 Program
In its official Day 2 updates, gamescom asia highlighted the entertainment area’s public opening, with playable demos, esports, and cosplay alongside the final day of industry meetings and conference sessions.
Friday’s conference program included Roblox VP of International Zhen Fang’s “The Next Generation Won’t Just Play Games” session. DigixArt creative director Yoan Fanise’s session compared Road 96 and Tides of Tomorrow, focusing on what the team got right and wrong across the two projects.
The program also put a practical question to studio leaders: does success in the AI era depend more on operational efficiency or creativity? The debate format split speakers into opposing teams and gave the audience the deciding vote.
For developers seeking support for their own projects, Friday’s Pitch Competition provided another opportunity. The organizer’s update described game creators presenting their original projects to publishers and investors.
Three Games With Wired Productions
We tested KUMARN: The Wandering Spirit, AGNI: Village of Calamity, and MR. RECORDS at Wired Productions.
MR. RECORDS was already a familiar name for us. We have covered its Music Level Editor, and its Steam demo lets you try the record-shop and rhythm-adventure mix yourself.
Robelle had a proper struggle with it. She was concentrating on the game, while the developer, a few people watching, and I were getting a good laugh out of the situation. I don’t think she realized quite how much entertainment she was providing. All in good fun—one of those moments you cannot plan into a meeting schedule.

I played the other two: KUMARN: The Wandering Spirit, WereBuff Studio’s horror adventure rooted in Thai folklore, and AGNI: Village of Calamity, the Indonesian survival-horror game from Separuh Interactive.
Jin Oh and the Final Business Day
The official conference program included Jin Oh’s keynote, “What Makes Great Games Endure? Lessons from the World’s Biggest Titles.” Gamescom presented it as a discussion of lasting success, drawing on his experience at Blizzard, Riot Games, and KRAFTON, with themes including player feedback, a game’s identity, and strong teams.
We also sat down with Jin for a great conversation about independent developers and the work around their games. A few prepared questions soon became a broader discussion, which we’re turning into a separate piece.
Day 3: Writing, Reflecting—and Sleeping
As I write this on Saturday, October 31, we’re spending Day 3 at the hotel: catching up on writing, sorting our notes, and reflecting on the past two days. Getting some serious sleep is also a huge priority.
Not the flashiest part of covering a gaming event, but a very real one. Apparently, we need charging too.
