POSTAL 2 Redux Officially Announced – Classic FPS Returns in Modern Unity Rebuild

The Most Controversial Open-World Shooter of the 2000s Is Back—Reimagined for Today’s Consoles and PCs

June 12, 2025 – Paradise just got a second life. Developer Team Beef and publisher Flat2VR Studios, in collaboration with the iconic Running With Scissors, have announced POSTAL 2 Redux, a full-scale remake of the infamous 2003 sandbox FPS. Rebuilt in Unity for PC, consoles, and VR, POSTAL 2 Redux isn’t just a remaster—it’s a brutal resurrection of the most outrageous shooter of its generation, now updated with modern graphics, gameplay improvements, and full multi-platform support.

POSTAL 2 Redux – Official Reveal and Kickstarter Details

Described as both a “love letter” and a “full-scale resurrection,” POSTAL 2 Redux is launching a Kickstarter campaign in Summer 2025 to fund additional features and platform support. The game promises to deliver next-gen graphics, no-load open-world streaming, enhanced AI behavior, and fully destructible environments—while keeping all the dark humor, satire, and chaos the series is infamous for.

POSTAL 2 Redux

Release Date: TBA (Kickstarter Live Summer 2025)

Genre: Open-world shooter, dark comedy, action sandbox

Developer/Publisher: Flat2VR Studios, Running With Scissors

Platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch

Why POSTAL 2 Redux Is More Than a Remaster

Forget minor visual tweaks—this is a complete re-engineering of the original POSTAL 2. Every asset, mechanic, and line of code is being rebuilt inside Unity, optimized for high performance across all modern hardware. The new version will include:

  • High-resolution textures and dynamic lighting for realistic environments and fluid simulation.
  • Zero-loading open world design that eliminates door pauses and elevators for seamless exploration.
  • Advanced AI and pathfinding systems that enable more dynamic riots, police chases, and civilian chaos.
  • Completely overhauled weapons and combat physics with ragdoll effects and bullet penetration.
  • Fully destructible interiors and setpieces in shops, arcades, homes, and seedy alleyways.
  • Champ 2.0, the upgraded companion dog—now interactive, commandable, and occasionally hilarious.

Paradise returns—POSTAL 2 Redux reimagines the iconic open-world town with upgraded visuals and full Unity support.

POSTAL 2 Redux Platforms – PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, and VR

The team is targeting PC (Windows, Linux, macOS), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also support VR, following the success of Team Beef’s VR work on other titles. Platform rollout may depend on Kickstarter stretch goals.

Kickstarter Campaign – Backer Rewards and Stretch Goals

The Kickstarter pre-launch page is now live. Backers can expect rewards such as:

  • Exclusive game keys for early access
  • Limited collector’s physical editions
  • In-game character immortality (yes, you can be the NPC everyone pees on)

Developer Commentary – Rebuilding Paradise From Scratch

“The original code tried to die on us daily. Running With Scissors let us butcher it and stitch it back to life—now with fewer surprise blue screens,” said Grant Bagwell, Co-Founder of Team Beef.

“Players begged us to fix the crashes, add modern graphics, and maybe stop the dog from pissing on them every five minutes,” added Vince Desi, Founder of Running With Scissors. “We’re doing two of those things.”

POSTAL 2 Redux – Built for Modern FPS Fans and Series Veterans

This isn’t nostalgia bait—it’s a reinvention aimed at both returning fans and a new generation of FPS players. Like what you saw in Dune: Awakening or Ready or Not, this is a shooter that refuses to hold back.
