Goodbye Seoul Wins Indie Arena Booth Best Game at gamescom 2025

Posted on August 27, 2025September 4, 2025 By Ronny Fiksdahl

A narrative puzzle-adventure from JINO Games and NEOWIZ set in a post-apocalyptic Seoul—now crowned Indie Arena Booth “Best Game.”

NEOWIZ and JINO Games added a major accolade to Goodbye Seoul at gamescom 2025: the Indie Arena Booth “Best Game” award (announced Aug. 25, 2025). It builds on the game’s earlier wins at the 2024 Busan Indie Connect Festival—taking home both Grand Prix and Excellence in Art.

Set in a haunting, post-apocalyptic Seoul, Goodbye Seoul follows Rion as he unravels the truth behind a covert space-evacuation operation. It blends side-scrolling exploration with environmental puzzles, creating a mood-driven narrative that unfolds through atmosphere rather than spectacle.

Why this matters

  • Discoverability still counts: As we argued in our feature on Gamescom’s value for indies, the show provides irreplaceable exposure—especially in the bustling Indie Arena Booth. Read it here.
  • Live feedback matters: In-person demo sessions let developers witness player reactions up close—the kind of raw insight that can shape a game’s future.
  • Visibility + jury love = confidence: Between the BIC festival awards and this Indie Arena Booth win, the game is clearly resonating with juries—a strong signal for narrative/puzzle fans.
