Team members are looking for new opportunities
The announcement says Nerial’s team will seek new opportunities, with the studio recommending its staff to prospective employers. It also thanks colleagues at Devolver and the collaborators who worked on its games.
Tamara and François, who signed the statement, said they intend to continue making games after taking a break to reflect. They did not announce a new project or a timetable for their return.
The statement does not give a specific reason for ending development or say how many people are affected.
From Reigns to The Crush House
Nerial began making games in 2013 and found its first commercial success with Reigns in 2016, according to the studio’s own history. It has been part of Devolver Digital since 2021.
Its catalog grew to include Card Shark, The Crush House and several Reigns releases. The farewell statement singles out the latest, Reigns: The Witcher, while describing The Crush House as the studio’s most ambitious project.
Nerial has not announced when, or whether, development under the studio’s name will resume.
