A strong Early Access milestone for an indie shooter that has clearly built real momentum on Steam
According to a post shared by the game’s official X account, SULFUR has now sold 300,000 copies on Steam during Early Access.
For a small independent project, that is a serious number. It also lands at a time when more developers are trying to understand how Steam visibility, community support, and momentum actually turn into results, something we recently touched on in our piece about Steam Next Fest pre-launch planning for indie developers. In that sense, SULFUR reaching 300,000 copies sold in Early Access feels like more than just a nice headline. It feels like proof that the game has connected.

A big thank you to everyone who has supported the project along the way – players, streamers, partners and friends.
I cannot describe how grateful I am that we get to do this independently for a living. pic.twitter.com/FpmWmPKbzU

The wording of the post also gives the update a bit more weight than a plain sales number. Alongside thanking players, streamers, partners, and friends, the developer said they were grateful to be able to do this independently for a living. That kind of line says a lot. Behind every milestone post is usually a long stretch of uncertainty, pressure, and hard work that most players never really see.
